Merry Christmas from the Birds!
Dear Family and Friends:
It is almost 2014! We are enjoying the winter in Las Vegas, especially when we read about the storms in New England.
We have been to many parties and get togethers with ward members and sponsored Ward christmas breakfast.
Since returning to our home in Las Vegas in October, we have had the opportunity of visiting family in St. George, Gallup, New Mexico and Arizona. We have also had the opportunity to attend the temple as it is only 45 minutes from our home.
Jean has been making many quilts for friends and family. She is also doing yoga again as it keeps her body limber. She enjoys her walks with Jim in the early morning. The sun rise encourages Jim to get out and enjoy nature.
Jim has enjoyed going to classes in computer, photo, and woodworking. We are now slicing acadia tree that has been drying for a year. We hope to make a tool box, and other items.
We have been blessed this past year by the opportunity to travel and visit friends and family. We have enclosed photos of some of the highlights: Our son Bret's Marriage, the baptism of our grandaughter, Isabella, Cortneys daughter ; The marriage of our grandson Matthew, Robin's son; Fireworks in New Haven, CT; Our trip to England, Wales and Iceland. On that trip we participated in the uniting of a wonderful family who are now all members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. At home in las Vegas we enjoyed an Elvis Presley show, Fremont street downtown decorations, and The Smith Ctr.
We are expecting two great-grandchildren in July. Our posterity keeps growing!
"One of the blessings of this time of year is the chance it gives us to connect with you, our friends and family." We've had a happy, busy year here in the Bird household! We are looking forward to a busy, healthy and happy new year including our family reunion on July 26th 2014.
We wish all a Merry Christmas as it commerates the birth of Jesus Christ. His life was an example for all to follow for happiness in this life and the hope for eternal life. In the word's of Tiny Tim " God Bless Everyone"!
Our love and best wishes to all,
Jim & Jean Bird
